Roku devices will not stream Spectrum app

All four of my roku devices will not stream the Spectrum app. I was on with tech support earlier today and they said the problem was with ISP and I needed to reboot my modem and router. Did that and no help. I then contacted Spectrum and they said it was a problem with Roku. So, is this a known problem?

  • Hi, Slo529

    Welcome to the Roku Community.

We appreciate you for sharing with us your concern with the Spectrum app. The RLP-999 error on Spectrum's TV app for Roku devices usually indicates a network connection issue. The app authenticates through the modem and in most cases, restarting the modem resolves most errors.

If the issue persists, we would recommend reaching out to Spectrum's Support.

We hope this will be sorted out soon.

    Thanks,
    Kash

I've done all you've suggested. Only local channels (if you subscribe) can be viewed. I've checked all three (3) ROKUs I use. The problems started a few months ago with fuzzy picture on all channels, I'd clear up the issue with a forced app update. Then 2 weeks ago, all the higher channels stopped working and now all channels less the local channels time out and blue screen.

The only app ROKU is directly responsible for is the ROKU channel. I'd suggest contacting spectrum.

So when all these recommendations are attempted and none of them fix the problem, what can be done?  Is Roku the wrong device if trying to stream the Spectrum app?

I now have this same issue starting today. I've done all steps listed here several times throughout today. Still no Spectrum app available on any roku tvs. App is available on my phone using same router though. Now what?

I have the same issue with my 3 Roku devices. It started today. I have tried all suggestions in the threads and noe of them solve the problem. Spectrum says it is a Roku issue?

  • Hi, I am having the same issue with the Spectrum app icon not showing. It does work if I do a search for Spectrum although all I can do is start the app. There is no way to uninstall/reinstall or update the app.

    Thanks

  • Has anyone gotten the roku spectrum app to work yet. Ive been trying for days and nothing

Thanks for all your help. I have 4 Roku tv’s and spectrum works on 2 and does not work on 2. I’ve tried all of the suggestions and still no luck. I get reference code RLP-999. This is the only streaming channel that isn’t working (Netflix, Prime, Apple etc all ok)
I had a spectrum technician at my home today and they said there is nothing they can do.

I do have a complaint regarding the channel app with spectrum and they say it will be resolved (?) by Dec. 7.
        any additional thoughts?

thanks so much for your time and help.

Make sure you check with Spectrum customer support to check that your account is set up with the ability to stream with the app, with appropriate account name, pw, email and appropriate things set up on their end.  Might also have them try to refresh your account remotely.

Also, you can try uninstalling the Spectrum app, system restart your Roku or power off for 30 to 60 seconds and then try reinstalling and setting up the app again.

Is it only Roku it is not working? Can you log into the app with a phone or your computer via the web?

Keep in mind that Spectrum is still working out some of the kinks of its streaming service and if they are giving a date of resolution, it may be a regional/local issue you are having that they are working on.  I know, especially early on this year and last, that a lot of those similar issues popped up here as they expanded their services before they expanded their capability, creating some issues.

Thank you. I have done all of the suggested fixes on my own and with a technician at my apartment. They hale checked my account and performed “fixes remotely” and all other streaming channels, using a Roku, are working. Two televisions using a Roku have spectrum working and two do not.   The spectrum app works using my phone/ipad. For the moment I can mirror using my iPad.
        thanks again.

  • My screen mirror feature as well as Spectrum app will no longer work on the Roku ultras,  I also have a Roku soundbar.  The soundbar works with mirroring and the spectrum app.  I’m not sure why.
