ROKU CHANNEL VOLUME LEVELS

Hey ROKU channel managers if you are reading these, why is the sound on programs on the Roku channel so much lower than the sound of the commercials? The TV show set for everybody to hear it, is coming in at 35 dB. Now it’s time for a commercial break and those are coming in at 75 to 90 dB. We’re in the other room not down the block. Turn down the commercials!

    Hi SugarAvenue, 

    Thanks for letting us know about this problem. 

    We apologize to hear about your experience. Try enabling Automatic Volume Leveling (if supported) from the settings menu and see if that will resolve the issue you're experiencing. To do this, follow the instructions below:

    • Press the Home button on your Roku remote. 
    • Scroll up or down and select Settings. 
    • Select Audio. 
    • Select Volume modes. 
      • Leveling: Enables consistent volume across different types of entertainment so you do not have to change the volume every time you switch channels or a commercial comes on.
