Had same issue but, the TV where I purchased HBO Max via Roku is a Fire TV, not Roku. so...that negates the idea of only working on a Roku device.
and with the new changeover from HBO Max to Max, it still only offers "providers" or Hbo account holders. This is insane. Paying via Roku each month but never able to watch except on one house tv. They need to fix this glitch. CAN ANYONE AT ROKU HELP????? Otherwise, forced to cancel subscription and go via Amazon, as with everything else.

Just a friendly reminder: If you purchase a subscription to a channel through Roku Pay, you will only be able to authenticate and access content on that channel through a Roku device.
