Multiple tv's can not watch same channel

Jump to solution

I have 3 Roku devices, I often like to have two sets going on the same channel as move about the house.  One set will shut down saying I already have that station on another tv.  Why can't I watch the same channel on separate devices, very annoying.

@dlbgood

Many/most of the channels/apps have no limitation on the number of streams/TVs that you can watch something on.

However, some of the subscription services do seem to impose a limitation of 2 or 3 streams per account.

This is not a Roku limitation, but the channel/app service you are subscribed to.

What channel are you watching that limits you to one stream?

Hi @dlbgood,

Thanks for reaching out to the Roku Community!

We understand your concern that you want to stream the same channel on different Roku devices.

Just to verify, which streaming channels are you experiencing this issue on?

Please be advised that channel providers may limit the number of devices that can be activated. We recommend checking with the channel provider for specific limits.

We hope we have addressed your question appropriately, but please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or additional feedback.

Best regards,
Mary

@dlbgood

SlingTV Orange is limited to one stream, while Sling Blue allows up to three streams.

-----

Try using Sling Free (Freestream) and see if the content you want is there.  (You will probably have to log out of Sling).  Can't say for sure, but I only use the Sling Free and I don't remember running into the single stream issue. (Of course, the free will be more limited than your Orange plan.)
