Re: MovielandTV and Cinema Box Channels - Come and Go

Jump to solution

There is now a nice Search function in both MovielanTV and Cinema Box apps, and it seems much more stable than earlier versions. WOuld anyone be able to advise on where to send feedback regarding content on these 2 channels? Example, the movie "The Hustler" with Paul Newman is missing about 30 minutes from the last part of the movie (current version only goes to 1hr 33min) ... and the movie "Vertigo" ith James Stewart and Kim Novak is a terible quality post, very grainy resolution, to the point it is all but unwatchable.  Any guidance on how to get this type of feedback to MovielandTV and Cinema Box would be greatly appreciated!  Many Thanks!

You could try leaving a comment on the  Digital Highway (the creator of the Movieland TV and Cinema Box apps) blog page for Cinema Box.

Happily I discovered Cinema Box two weeks ago and loved the content as well as ad-free. I thought THIS IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, well obviously it was too good to be true. Now, Cinema Box is gone. Removed by Roku. Nothing comes up for Movieland or MovielandTV so thats obviously gone too if it was ever there? Actually, I have most of the Cinema Box movies in file version on my drive, thousands, but it was nice to have so many more to discover via Cinema Box. Personally, I just think it's that they don't want us to have anything for free or without ads. I figured Cinema Box would eventually stick in ads, and maybe they will if they come back.

@Randy1649, or maybe they'll actually obtain the rights to the movies they were most likely pirating, but I doubt it.

One thing that has never been understood ... WHO sponsors MovielandTV and/or CinemaBox? NO COMMERCIALS or ADS ... NO SUBSCRIPTION FEES ... whoever it is ain't hauling heavy cash to the bank ... What is the motive for providing a great selection of films?

Good movies for free most likely means they are pirated and the developer is not paying the rights holders.

So how were they making money to support the channel?  I would think there was cloud or server fees.  Odd.

I disagree. There are many other free channels that play copyright protected movies and public domain for free viewing for years, and they're not disappearing from Roku device. Movieland channel will return just like Cinema Box. Let's face it, Movieland and Cinema Box channels are proving to be a favorite of a lot of Roku customers.

Then why do you feel these channels come and go? I'd love to know why. The have many great films for free that I've been unable to find free elsewhere. Thanks for replying!

They are popular because Americans will do anything for "Free", even if it mean RIPPING OFF other people.
