Howdy. We subscribe to YouTube TV which we access through Roku. On our Roku Express (maybe on our Roku3 too, but not sure) ... the current show on MSNBC, whatever it is, audio and video, plays in "dim mode" in the background while we are trying to make any other channel choice on You Tube TV. We do not have to have been on MSNBC immediately previously. It's annoying, mostly ... we are not kept from choosing another channel to watch, and the MSNBC "ghost" disappears when we do. But something is not right and we'd like to get MSNBC to stay in its corner and wait to be chosen, rather than interrupting our channel-chosing.
I thought it was a quirk in my older Roku Express, so I bought a new one, with upgraded this and that, and was dismayed to see that the MSNBC interrupting thing was still present using the new unit.
Hi @Ogregon45
Welcome to the Roku Community!
Does the issue only occur on YouTube TV or across other channels on your Roku device?
Have you tried removing the affected channel YouTube TV and then re-install again? If not, we suggest starting there. In some cases, removing the affected channel and then re-installing it may help. Restart your device before re-adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this through the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart.
For detailed instructions, refer to this Support link for more information: How to resolve a channel playback issue | Official Roku Support.
Let us know if there's any difference after.

Hi @Ogregon45
Thanks for keeping in touch!
Many channels on Roku are maintained by the channel provider themselves. Since the error only occurs on the YouTube TV channel, that's an indication that there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them. We indeed recommend contacting YouTube TV Support to report the issue and get help.
Thank you for your understanding.
Warm Regards,
Lianna
