Until Friday (15 November 2024), the 'Live TV' app on the Home Screen showed a thumbnail of the selected channel. Since then it doesn't show a preview thumbnail. I checked, and the signal strength is 4 bars... I rebooted, powered off, nothing fixed it. No recent software update (last updated on 17 October, version 14.0).
TV is TCL Roku TV, model 55S455
Does anyone have any suggestions to restore this functionality?
There's two different "Live TV" icons possible on Roku TVs. One is for their streaming "Live TV" channels on "The Roku Channel" and one is for antenna channels. They seem to be screwing with the one for antenna TV and it may have disappeared from your Home Screen.
Thanks for answering, renojim,
The 'app' on the home page is the Live TV associated with the tuner. Until Friday, when I moved the highlight to that on the home page, it showed the last-chosen channel from the tuner in thumbnail mode. Now it never changes.
I didn't change what's on the home page since long before that. I also didn't get an update from Roku, and the icon is still present.
Interesting. I know there are some updates that affect the Home Screen that aren't reflected in the last "software update" date that's shown, so it's possible that one of those occurred. I stopped using my Roku TVs as "smart" TVs and just set them up saying I don't have an Internet connection because I got tired of Roku's updates screwing around with things. I'll have to check if I still get the preview in the "Live TV" icon, but I don't suppose that does you much good or really answers any question.
