Why does Roku continue to respond to this Fox News (and Fox Business) app issue like it's the first time you've heard about it. It is WELL documented all over your Roku Community Support page ... and has been for at least 2 years.
It's insulting to tell us (users) to reset devices, reinstall the app, and (my personal favorite) contact Fox News Support. Here's a news flash. Fox News says "contact Roku." Same with the service providers. Xfinity and Spectrum say, "contact Roku."
This is CLEARLY NOT a problem any user can fix. Given Fox's viewership / popularity, it's beyond comprehension that nothing is being done to address this.
Fyi, this is occuring on EVERY Roku device and with 2 differenct providers (Xfinity and Spectrum) on 2 differnt properties. So DO NOT send me another set of ridiculous, useless "instructions" to reset, reboot, reintall, or contact somebody else.
What I would like to know is whether Roku is taking ANY action to resolve this problem? If not ... or if the response to this is "reset, reboot, etc.", that will be THE END for me with Roku. And I'll be sure to "share" the info far and wide.
Hopefully this will illicit some sort of ACTUAL assistance. Thank you.
I’m with you 100% we have a Roku in every room but I’m about to look into other streaming services because I have the distinct feeling Roku themselves have done this.
to those who keep saying it’s the Fox app- it is not. And yes, we have a subscription to watch this is Roku specific.
I still dont understand why Roku has Fox Nation as a pay channel but not Fox News.... Revenue Roku
Is a separate Fox News subscription available anywhere? From what I can tell, the Fox News app is a TV Everywhere app and requires having a Live TV cable/satellite/streaming service subscription. Doing some Googling, only Fox Nation is available as a standalone subscription.
And again, Roku does NOT write the apps! It's up to the services and developers. It's also up to Fox Broadcasting as to what is available as a subscription and what type of subscription.
Fox News is not available as a standalone streaming service. I have done the research.
This appears to be a Verizon Fios issue. I was finally able to login to Fox News, although the activation was not immediate
I have a subscription and up to a year ago it was working. Fox works on other devices. This certainly appears to be a Roku specific issue. And I have multiple Roku devices two older two newer (within 2yrs purchased) Roku and all four will not play Fox News even when I’ve logged into provider.
You can get the app but without a cable provider you can not get the Fix News channel. Kind of defeats the purpose of having Roku
It's not limited to Roku. ALL streaming devices/Smart TV's where the Fox News app is available will have the same restrictions.
Just now having the same problem??? Fix it Roku or your fired
