I just installed the new Gotham Sports app to watch local NY sports. I can't login to the app. It fills in my account name (which is my email address), and when I click "Login or Register", I get the following:
"It appears your email is associated with a social login. Please login using the mobile app or go to gothamsports.com."
I have one and only one email address, and I use it (with different passwords) for multiple accounts, including the YES Network, which is being replaced by Gotham Sports.
The phone (Android) app and the website work fine.
Had the same problem. I then used a different email account and it worked. If you dont have one, make one up. During the process you will have to enter your cable provider info. Follow the rest of the directions and you should connect.
Hi, Community users!
Welcome to the Roku Community Support platform.
It has come to our attention that you are having login or authentication issues within the Gotham Sports app on your Roku devices. No worries! We'll help you contact the right Support and provide further information.
Firstly, please be aware that the channel providers independently maintain and update most standalone apps on the Roku streaming platform. Since this is an isolated case within the Gotham Sports app, we highly recommend directly coordinating with their Support team for further assistance.
It's also worth noting that Roku doesn't manage channel logins or authentication. You may reach them here for further assistance: Gotham Sports Support.
We hope this will be sorted out soon.
Best regards,
Carly
I got an email from the YES network this week. It stated that my YES account was tied into my Facebook account, and that I should get a new password. I did that, then tried to re-authenticate on my Roku. This time, it accepted my password. I don't have to use the fake email address anymore. I consider this problem solved.
Have you tried to contact Gotham Sports? It's their app, so they're responsible for any login issues.
Gotham Sports doesn't seem to have a support email address. I know I'm not the only Roku owner who follows NY sports, and I thought that someone else might have had the same problem and solved it.
having same issue, will be calling them today
Any luck? I'm having the same issue as well

Have the exact same problem. Sent an SMS to the chat provided on their website about 2 hours ago. Have gotten zero help to this point. Will keep you posted.

That procedure worked for me. I don't like making up fake email addresses, but until GS fixes their Roku app, it seems to be the best alternative.
Another (worse) alternative would be to go to the GS website on my phone and do a video cast. That is a kludgy approach that I haven't had much luck with any time I've tried it.
