It's been a while but I could have sworn that my Roku keyboard had a shift key just like any other keyboard.  I'm sure it had a normal shift key  (ie: arrow pointing up) at the far left of the keyboard and a caps lock key (arrow with a check box) at the right side of the keyboard.

For pity's sake, people, you're on the virtual onscreen keyboard.  So that's where you look for the shift key too.

That’s a different screen.  This one doesn’t have the shift key and no indicator that you have to use the up arrow to get a capital.
