Why are the cameras an "app" and not part of the firmware?

Roku needs to embed the support of their cameras and other home monitoring systems into the firmware, instead of having a janky app for the TV. This would allow them to do things with the cameras that are actually useful, like fully integrating the PIP and popup displays, and allow you to use your remote to communicate through the cameras to people in front of them.

I know that's a pretty hefty request since the app barely even provides the functionality that is promised already, but come TF on... I'm so sick of having to deal with shiddy technology companies that offshore their support and give canned responses to every issue. Do they even read the community feedback posted here? But I digress..

Roku could be the premiere integrated home automation\security\monitoring solution for use directly with TVs,  but they're too busy paying their CEOS and shareholders obscene amounts of money and buying their own stock back, to invest real capital into technology that is more than just a gimmick for their customers.

I forsee a lawsoot (they won't let you mention it here spelled correctly. Lol), class action or otherwise, coming in the near future for people who purchased "security" and home monitoring solutions from Roku, who did not have the functionality they needed during an emergency or loss event...
