Totally agreed, except one thing, they don't really have devs, and what devs they have are incompetent.
They mostly outsource, per my recent research into their deplorably worthless customer support.

yeah typical greedy company, outsource everything to places you cant contact, or CS you can't understand or get real help from them because the CS know nothing about the item or not get cut and paste responses when you can or the brush off/hang ups.
When you run this TV it comes with 2 things, the TV's software, settings, menus to the app store etc to get more apps etc and the ROKU TV App to watch content.
I can delete one if I don't like what they are doing on it, all I can do with the TV is put it up after spending **bleep** dollars on it.
The only thing the TV software should be doing is setup, settings and keeping the buyer from having to buy a separate ROKU device to stream apps on. Not make customers TV's into advertisement money makers for ROKU as long as its owned and connected online. Let them give away free TV's or cheaper TV's if they want that.
They want to ruin their content viewer app adding all this ad **bleep** to it or making it too big in memory, let them , I can delete it as I have with other apps. Plus like I said in the first post this TV hasn't been updated in months, I'm sure because of this problem. Yet it appears it doesn't need to be, whether it's on auto update, manual or not as they can just add anything they want, like the ANDOR menu and hide setting and who knows what other things they've backdoor-ed into the software they can do. certainly nothing to fix TV issues
Amazon tablets are like that, you can buy one cheaper because it has ad's on the opening unlock screen, but at least you can spend a little more and have the options to never see ad's or have it become unusable until you delete your own stuff so their ads can run.
