Try these tv brands as well: Envision, Auria, Norcent, Viewsonic, Wyse, Magnavox, Philips
If you want to know why newer remotes don't have as many tv codes available, there was patent suit, an upgrade took care of it. Outcome not as many tv codes available as there use to be.
I"ll go back in and play with these 2 remotes, but WHICH one of the two that don't appear to be the same model as the original is the one that SHOULD be working?
Where did the TV codes change - I have a remote. It has at least 8 TV codes to try - I know this because the existing remote (RC-AL7) works FINE and uses the 8th code it tries. With the SAME streaming stick on the SAME TV with the TC-FA5 remote I CANNOT even access as many TV codes. Are the REMOTES determining what TV codes are made available to the TV?
I'll try some of the other brands listed, but which REMOTE should I even be using?

Continuing down the increasingly bizarre path, I've now tried all the Brands listed in the earlier email. None of them worked, with differing numbers of codes tried:
AOC old remote at least 8 codes, new remote only 6.
Envision 4 codes
Auria 2 codes
Norcent 2 Codes
Viewsonic 14 codes
Wyse 2 codes
Magnavox 10
Philips-Magnavox 10
Magnavox (Roku tv) 1
Philips 7Am I going to have to buy ANOTHER &^%$#@ Roku to get one with a remote that'll work? If so, I don't think it's going to be another &^%$ streaming stick.

Is there a phone number that will get me to SOME kind of Roku support? I've now tried FIVE DIFFERENT remotes (the two new ones I bought, the two that are on other devices in the house, and the ONLY one that works - which still has the problem with the buttons). 4 DON'T work at all, ONE is failing.
HOW do I reach a live human at Roku that can tell WHAT I have to do to get a WORKING replacement remote on this thing?

I'm done. Found a number. Spent an astonishing amount of time with a couple different people, doing the same thing over and over and explaining over and over what wasn't working to different people. Then doing the same thing over and over with the same result.
Eventually, the Roku person told me I needed a different remote. BUT, before that it appears Roku wants me to have AOC change SOMETHING about CEC (I never did figure out what) on the probably 10-year-old TV. I"ll have to try to contact AOC to see if they have something to update on the TV...
