Xfinity Stream crashing on startup with 11/1/23 update

My Roku TV, a TCL 43S435 was updated today, November 1, 2023, and now my Xfinity Stream app crashes every time I try to start it up. It keeps sending it back to the home screen. That's how I watch TV, and so now I can't watch anything.

  • I started having this problem today as well. All other apps on Roku works fine except for the Xfinity app. Every time we click on it, it looks like it wants to open but goes back to home screen. No error message. I have restarted the system, unplugged TV and Roku and have no more options to try.

      wlreed22, try restarting all of your Xfinity equipment - gateway/modem/router.

        I have restarted everything multiple times and still not working. This just started today.

      Sadly it looks like Roku did some minor updates over the past day or two and now they broke the Xfinity Steam app, again.  It only took 6m+ to fix the audio issue.  How long for this now?

      I've done the same, rebooted the TV, as I have TCL Roku TV's.  Nothing fixes it.

        How did you fix audio issue because as of yesterday, my Xfinity Stream audio still goes up and down.  Does Firestick have this issue?  About to say bye to both Roku and Xfinity.

      Same problem here in Houston, TX.  Removed Xfinity Stream channel and added back on Roku, unplugged all and reconnected, chatted with Xfinity (which is a laugh).  Said they’d open a ticket.  The up and down volume is a pain enough.  Now we have nothing.  I don’t know if I should quit Xfinity or Roku.  Any help out there from Roku?

      same problem I even did a complete reset on both tv and xfinity app

        Many posts on xfinity community seems like a roku issue as fire sticks work (as posted by others). Not sure if roku or xfinity issue but has been happening now for 2 days  not sure who is working in this if anyone.

      Still crashing 11/2/23 7 am. Come on Comcast wake up!

  • Same here (Chicago), started last night around 8 pm. We were watching a program we recorded on Xfinity. It started glitching, freezing, skipping. We exited the Xfinity app and when trying to log back in, it opens to the home page and then crashes. This was out Westinghouse Roku TV. The Roku 3, same issue, Roku stick, same and this morning I tried the TCL Roku Smart TV down in my office - same issue. We have reset, rebooted, unistalled, re-installed, disconnected, unplugged, drained electricity, restarted and every other attempt to fix on our end. It's not the comsumer. Xfinity says it's Roku, Roku says it's Xfinity, meanwhile, nationwide, more and more consumers are flooding these communities with this issue. One or both of these giants need to fix this, issue a statement or at the least, acknowledge the consumer's issue!!

      Yes a statement, ETA of a fix and reimbursement of money spent for time when app is unusable.

        I use Xfinity boxes but control two TVs with the Xfinity remotes. Neither work now and so far no codes work manually either

  • I have two roku TVs. The Xfinity Stream has been working fine since I moved into my house 2 years ago. Tonight when I go to start the stream on either TV, the app starts normally goes to the main screen and almost immediately it shuts down and takes me back to the roku main screen. I have tried to reset the internet connection, reset the TV, reset my wifi, deleted the app and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to have worked. I have a cable box on an older TV, it works. It works on my mobile device. Roku points me to Xfinity and Xfinity tells me how to install the app, then points me to Roku. Many forums state basically cross you fingers and hope it corrects itself. I am looking for a bit more support

      Exact same issue for me. Even factory reset of tv did not fix. It's a bug in xfinity app for roku tv, xfinity should fix this asap.

  • Same here on both tcl Roku tvs! Started last night. I have searched everywhere and there doesn’t seem to be a fix yet.
