I wanted to watch Moana 2, but now I can't out of principle because of this dumb ad that autoplayed when I turned on my Roku. Also, who thought it was a great idea to turn on autoplay ads as a "test"? This isn't something that even needs to be tested. Nobody wants this. Please kill this "feature" so I don't have to replace my Rokus with a less user-hostile streaming box.
Not a question, im here to say im throwing my Roku in the trash and picking up an Apple TV+ from Best Buy tomorrow morning.
This new inability to hide ads at all is psychotic and the last straw, you are craven moneygrubbers in the worst sense and i hope your company collapses under the weight of your own greed. Jesus. Christ.

I agree.
Roku just keeps getting worse and worse.
Roku has Ads during programming...ok...but they are getting more frequent and longer to the point of ruining all immersion and enjoyment of a program.
There are Ads on the pause screen...
Some programming has Lower Third Ads run during it...
There are Ads mixed into the menu of shows more and more now...
Entire Categories are just Ads for premium channels and Sponsored Content now...
There are Ads to the Left of the Apps Menu...
There is a giant Ad to the Right of the Apps Menu...
There is a Row of Ads at the Top of the Apps menu Since Last year...
AND NOW - Every time I come out of Screen Saver or Power on my Roku Stick a full screen AD!
Enough FFS! Roku just keeps getting worse and worse. You(Roku) have removed so much content and replaced it with Ads for pemium content and subscription services, and it seems like every update is just looking for new places and ways to squeeze in more ads. Roku has removed so many apps and channels too...l it's disgusting.
Now I will consider any device with built in Roku a negative and a great excuse to buy a different device.

Go into the Settings/Accessibility menu and disable auto-play videos and you can get rid of the full screen ads. It's something that the federal ADA laws are forcing on devices, so don't be surprised if the same thing happens on other platforms.

I want to thank Roku for rolling out this 'trial' of auto playing video ads when they did. My 11 year old dumb TV has been having issues and I need to purchase a new TV. Since it's nearly impossible to find a decent dumb TV anymore, I'm forced to buy a not so smart TV. But now, there is NO WAY that I will never own a Roku OS TV and the stick I thought I OWNED will be recycled.
Frankly, a class action should be started against all of these bait and switch companies. Honestly, a company could easily come along and take this market by storm by removing all of this stupidity. All they would have to do is give control back to the consumer, instant market dominance.Again, thanks Roku, for showing the world your game plan! Morons; no wonder you can't turn a profit with your obviously bloated company.

I thought a Roku TV was going to give me a small amount of ads for a nice interface and smart TV features, but progressively over time there's been more and more intrusive ads I think most people are having an issue with this because it's actually interfering with the function of the TV. I didn't purchase the TV with this many ads on it had I had known that this was going to be a complete advertisement infused TV over time I would not have purchased a Roku TV.
