TCL Roku TV shuts off on its own

My TCL Roku TV will shut off, on its own, about 30 seconds to 1 minute after I first turn it on. I have the TV connected to an external Samsung soundbar via HDMI. Fast TV start is turned off and CEC is turned on. eArc is also turned on for the soundbar.

If anyone has any suggestions, I am all for it. I will attempt to answer any questions. I am just so tired of turning on my TV and then it shuts off just as I start to watch something!

    Hi kimaysa1,

    Greetings from the Roku Community!

We understand that you're having the same issue with your TCL Roku TV turning off randomly. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

Here are a few things to note, and you can try them if you haven't tried any troubleshooting yet.

    • One reason your TCL Roku TV might be rebooting by itself is the insufficient power supply. Please check the power adapter and power outlet to ensure everything is properly connected to the back of the TV.
    • You can also try using another network, such as Mobile Hotspot, when streaming and see if that makes a difference.
    • You can perform a system reboot, by navigating to Settings>>System>>Power (if available)>>System restart.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, we may need help from the TV manufacturer team as this may be related to a hardware problem. Please contact your TV manufacturer directly to report this issue and request additional support. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support and warranty services for their products running the Roku OS.

You can contact them here: TCL Support

    We hope this helps.

    Best,
    The Roku Community Team

  • My TV is doing the same thing after watching for about 15 minutes if that long. It switches to the photo share. I then I have to scroll left and then it will go back to what I was watching. Irritating

RRoell, I don't think you have the same issue as the OP.  I've seen a few reports of the screensaver activating when watching antenna TV.  Sounds like the latest Roku bug.  I'd expect them to fix it, but Roku doesn't do anything quickly.  You might want to disable your screensaver until they do.

I will give that a try and see if that fixes it.

        Thanks,
