Still no tv power or volume control in iOS app after YEARS

It has literally been years since this complaint was first lodged with Roku in this forum. I have a Roku streaming stick+. The remote has a power button and volume controls which work flawlessly. The app? No control over power or volume, rendering it fairly useless. Why? Why can the app not emulate the remote? Is there a technical issue? And please don’t reply with the trope about the buttons on the phone controlling volume - this is only the case with “headphone mode”, which we do not use nor care about.

Has Roku consciously made the decision to handicap the app for streaming sticks which can otherwise control tv power and volume via the remote? This answer is critical to me going forward. I will be purchasing a couple of additional TVs, but would prefer not to stay within the Roku universe if this is how they “play” with their customers.

    Welcome, Pbabcock

We understand that you're not seeing an option for volume and power on the Roku mobile app. Any Roku streaming player, volume, and power controls aren't available in the mobile app on IOS. Only Roku TVs include the power features in the app.

    Hope that clears things up!
