Roku Model 40R3BX. Settings menu says optical audio is always on when sound is set to the tv speakers. Not on my tv. Tried every combination of audio settings. Nothing works to have sound on tv speakers with optical sound too.
My older TCL Roku tv worked fine. The menu on the new Roku says it should work.
How do I contact someone for help?
Just hooked up Alto 6 sound bar to HDMI (ARC). Now have audio out of optical. So, problem solved except I liked the sound options with the tv better than what is available with the sound bar.
But it is working.
Apparently, the settings menu is wrong. Optical is on when using the HDMI (ARC), and not when using tv speakers.
Hooked up a Roku StreamBar using HDMI (ARC) to use as speakers with Roku Select TV. Works great and my optical port stays on. And all the sound adjustments in the tv menu are now available.
All works with one remote.
