Roku TV and Fire Stick remotes

Hello!!  I have a 32” Roku TV and a Fire Stick.  I went through the Fire Stick setup including pairing the remote.  Now, I can turn the tv on with either remote, but I have to use the Roku remote to select Fire TV at the Home Screen.  Then, the Fire Stick remote does the rest.  The Fire Stick won’t make that selection.  What am I doing wrong that the Fire Stick remote won’t control everything??  Thanks in advance!!
