I own and use multiple streaming devices just for the fun part so NOT biased towards any.
To put in other words Apple TV 4K can FILL my ultrawide monitor but when using Roku I get annoying large black borders on both sides typically wasting part of the screen. Same wastage that YouTube/Netflix/Amazon apps does to a modern TV when streaming a widescreen movie with black borders on top bottom and NO zoom option to fill up the whole TV screen.
But does it FILL it with a true 21:9 aspect ration image or is it just stretching/zooming stuff?
I don't have one but according to a post I googled up titled: "Apple TV 4k 2nd gen doesn't support 21:9 aspect ratio" it just stretches an image to fit the screen.
Another post on an apple forum asking if it can do 21:9 got a response about overscan.😀 So, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have 21:9.
Opinions vary, but I prefer black bars to stretching,
