Roku Streaming Stick HD 2025 Overheating Issue
Does anyone know why my Roku Streaming Stick HD 2025 (model 3840R) gets hot literally streaming YouTube or Netflix for like 30-60 minutes? I mean, my first ever Roku (the Roku Express 3700x) didn't get as hot as my new streaming stick does while streaming for the same amount of time, if not, longer. I mean, it doesn't really affect performance or throws up a "Your device is overheating" message, but it is noticeable hot to the touch. And I don't think the way I have the stick setup really affects it's temperature, but it isn't conclusive, as I hadn't tested the stick in my other house TV's. I don't hate my Streaming Stick just for this reason, in fact, I think it's a massive upgrade from my old Roku 3700x, but it does makes me concerned of my new streaming stick's longevity.
Hi, jonatjaen1516
Quick heads-up: Your device might overheat if it's in a tight space or gets poor airflow. Keep it out of enclosed areas, off other electronics, and away from sunlight. An HDMI extender can help.
If you see an overheating warning:
- Unplug it for 10+ minutes.
- Plug it back in and try again.
- If the warning stays, repeat up to 3 times.
