Roku streaming stick 4K remote issues

Just got the Streaming Stick 4K, which while it feels really nice and snappy (also with some features my Roku TV doesn’t have), it is kinda a waste of money for me. I’ll be returning it tomorrow morning.

What wouldn’t be a waste of money is a new remote, I love the remote that came with it. Feels more premium, the soft buttons make it quiet, and voice control is huge for me (my TV literally prompts me to use voice command even though it didn’t come with a voice remote).

With that being said, I’d like to know if I can throw away this old remote when I order the new one? It would be really annoying having to keep it around just to turn the TV on and off, which I doubt is the case, but I’m not sure.

    There's no need to throw it away and it's always a good idea to have a spare remote lying around, but you won't need it if you get one of Roku's voice remotes.
