I have exactly the same set up as the OP. Can this be done?
Just to close the loop on this, I was never able to get the streambar to act as an airplay speaker. I ended up going with an Apple TV which was connected to a 4k monitor w/o speakers via hdmi and two Sonos speakers via airplay. Working great, but significantly higher cost.
