Thank you for the message. My issue is solely with my ability tonuse my Roku remote to turn the TV on and have it immediately be able to navigate the Roku "screen" / page / dashboard (with all the applications).
If i point the Roku remote at the TV, it may turn it on, but if it does, I am staring at LG's main / screen with all the applications it has to offer. I can see a "tile" for the HDMI input, but I can't use the Roku remote to scroll to it, or do anything. If I turn the TV off, wait a bit, and turn it on again, it take me to the Roku main screen, and then my Roku remote works, and I can navigate to / around all the applications. In the alternative, I can start the process by turning on my TV w/ the LG Remote, navigate to the HDMI input, select it - at which point the Roku main screen appears. Then I switch remotes, pick up the Roku remote, and it works.
The thing is: i have another LG TV that also has a Roku Streaming Stick 4G, and the combo is entirely controlled by my Roku remote. And, until a few weeks ago, I had another LG TV (the predecessor to the TV that is not playing well with my remote). That earlier TV was only a few years old, and - as I was led to understand - the one that I have is the replacement / updated model for that earlier one. And the Roku remote worked on that TV (turn on, navigate the applications in the Roku screen / page, volume up/down, turn off). I had no reason to think the new TV wouldn't play well with the remote. And yet, here I am.
There is no issue with Voice Command.
As to the steps you described: They don't match what i see on my TV. You wrote "Navigate to Settings Select System Select System update Select Check now" However, what i see is
Settings -> System -> Software Update (and the screen shows me the date it was last updated)
OR
Settings -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> And here, my choices are: Factory Reset, Network Connection Reset, Control bt Mobile Devices, or Advanced Display Settings]
OR
Settings -> System -> Power -> System Restart [and my only choice is Restart].
I don't have a choice to Check Now.
I'd greatly appreciate further guidance. If a call would be easier, please let me know.
Thank you!!
