Roku remote buttons not working

I have used a Logic Tech universal remote for my older Toshiba TV and older Bose sound system for years.  It does not control the Roku Remote functionality, but to turn on and off through the tv.  I use the universal remote to turn on the tv with the Roku stick in HDMI 1 port.  Roku has been paired to the TV.  After Roku loads I use the remote to navigate, but the universal remote controls the sound through the Bose system.  I can shut down everything using the universal remote button.  Recently an Roku update impacted the TV and Bose System RF settings.  Nothing on the universal remote has changed.  It now says both devices need to be reset.  Been trying but can’t access the settings to either.  Is there something that Roku can fix on their end?  Anybody have suggestions.

Does "It" refer to the universal remote?

If your Logitech "universal remote" is a Harmony then you probably need to (re)enable IP access to your Roku device:

    Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Control by mobile apps/Network access = Enabled

(Recent RokuOS firmware updates changed the default of this setting to Limited which effectively disables it)

  • Not sure when you reset to ‘enabled’?  Where on Harmony?  Roku??
