Hi r_piddy,
Use a USB power adaptor to power your device into the wall. For most Roku devices, this is included with your device, but often, people will have a spare USB power adaptor around, and that will work, too.
You'll still plug the Streaming Stick directly into the HDMI port on your TV, but using the wall to power your device instead of the TV will stop the device from turning off.
You may need an extension cable if an outlet isn't close enough.
Let us know how it goes!

This is what I am doing. I am using the USB-USB cable that came with the Roku. I have plugged into 2 different wall USBs, the USB port on the TV, I’ve tried every HMDI port on the TV and every time I turn my TV on it will not detect the Roku until I unplug it and plug it into a different HDMI port
