Hello sjager
Thanks for reaching out to the Roku community!
I'd be delighted to take a closer look to see how we can assist. Do you receive an error code or message when connecting to the network? Did you try to connect the device to your home network or to the router?
Furthermore, if the affected device is either a Roku Express or Roku Premiere, please note that they are only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum. Ensure that your hotspot is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to. You can check your device model by navigating to Settings > System > About.
If you are getting an error code or message, refer to this link for common Roku error codes and their recommended actions: How to connect your Roku device to the internet using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.Keep us posted with the details.

Why would it suddenly stop working if the Wi-Fi is not compatible? It was working when I went to bed, woke up and it disconnected and does not show my Wi-Fi when I scan for networks GET iT TOGETHER ROKU

Hi Sunnystaci,
Thanks for the post.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, I will do my best to assist you.
I would recommend checking out our Support page for troubleshooting issues here: How to connect your Roku® streaming device to the internet using Wi-Fi® or Ethernet | Official Roku Support
Please answer the following questions so we can get a better understanding of what you are seeing
- Have you ensured your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to? As some Roku devices like Roku Premiere and Roku Express are only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum.
- Have you tried changing the wireless broadcast channel on the router to see if this will allow your device to connect?
- Have you tried moving the device closer to your router to see if you can get connected?
- Can you please specify the exact steps you are taking to reproduce this issue so we can investigate further?
- who is your ISP (internet service provider)?
Once we have this information, we will be able to assist you further.
Best regards,
Mary

I Have had similar issues getting connected to the wifi. Up until today, I was able to unplug each of my 2 roku express units, and it would come back after an hour or two. But this morning, neither one will connect. I have restarted and unplugged the router, and unplugged and restarted the 2 express units multiple times. They still will not connect.
I can connect my ipad and various other units in my house to the wifi, but the roku express units have been out all day. I also have Xfinity internet.

Sorry, I incorrectly stated that the units would not find my network. In fact they list my network name, and even show that the wifi strength is excellent. But fail to connect.

Same issue here!! Suddenly 2/6/23 boom both Rokus AND our personal cameras kicked off! Won’t even show up when I scan! We have had them connected since September!

Hi Sunnystaci
Welcome to the Roku Community!
I'd be delighted to look closely to see how we may assist you in getting started. Do you receive an error message when attempting to connect to your wireless network or when streaming a specific channel?
For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried re-connecting your Roku to a solid wireless network to see if that helps resolve the issue you are seeing? You may also try to connect to an alternate wireless network, such as another mobile phone signal typically provided and maintained by specific mobile phone (cellular) service providers, to see if you are experiencing the same issue.
With detailed information, we will be better able to assist you.
Warm Regards,
Lianna

Same for mine. So frustrating. Tried everything that was recommended. I will no longer be purchasing Roku if this is how they last after less than a year 😞
not impressed

I have found my people! I have been trying for the past two days to get my Roku Express to connect, while everything else in my house works and the Roku Express is right next to the router. I've looked through all the "work arounds", short of me having to reach out to Xfinity and hoping they can help me, essentially the Roku Express is now "dead in the water". Was this an update? What did you change? This is clearly a Roku issue. Do I need to buy a new Roku because all your "solutions" are not working and they don't seem to be working for others also.

I too have been the same issues no connection to internet and I upgraded my router last week
- -ComputerMan-3 years agoReel RookieRoku Doesnt Stay Connected To New Arris G36 Surfboard Modem/Router Combo
I just bought a new Arris G36 surfboard modem/rouer combo, & set it up 4 days ago......the internet on my laptop & phones in the house work great, no problems at all. The problems I am having are with the two Rokus I have connected to my two tvs.
I set up both Rokus & everything worked fine on the tvs for that day, but the following morning I turn on both tvs & it says no internet connection.......then I try to connect Roku to the wireless internet but it cant, so I have to restart both Rokus, & once they restart, both Rokus & tvs are working again for the entire day, no disconnect or disruptions until the following morning again, same problem.
For whatever reason, every morning I have to restart the Rokus to connect to the internet.......my question is, where does the problem lay? With the Roku products, or the new Arris G36 modem/router?
The Rokus are 3 years old, but work great with my 3 year old Arris modem/router I replaced......so im thinking the problem is the Arris G36......& im thinking of taking it back to Best Buy & purchasing a Netgear.
Any & all information would be greatly appreciated to solve the Roku connectivity problem to the Arris G36.
The Roku Express model# 3931RW
The other Roku is not an express......but both worked great with the 3 year old Arris modem/router
Reason I bought the Arris G36 is I wanted faster speed for download/upload
Also wanted to mention the Arris G36 gives you a choice of 5G or standard or both when using my laptop of cellphone, & im assuming it go in between the closer I am to the modem/router.
The Roku doesnt give me a choice in the WLAN list, its just standard I have to choose. Seeing my network is never the issue, its there, for whatever reason, both Rokus disconnect overnight.
(Fixed the problem by buying new Roku stick 4k with both 2.4 & 5g available as internet connections......lets see if this works for a while, but for now, all is good)
