Roku Express battery contacts

I thought my Roku Express was on the blink this evening as it wasn't responding to the remote, so I quickly downloaded and installed the app on my phone and that worked fine. I checked the battery levels for the remote and they are both fine. I reinserted them and I think everything is working again. It's a fairly new unit so I'm surprised that the battery contacts are so dodgy.
