I totally understand the annoyance, but Roku didn't build the TV, JVC did. it's like blaming Microsoft because your Dell PC has physical features you don't like. All my Roku devices are Streaming Sticks (6 of them, all still working), and I love em! ... no Roku (OS) TVs.
That's BS reasoning! You pay someone to make it, makes **bleep** sure it works!

Cdog71 That is not correct. Roku does not pay to make TVs with Roku on them unless it is a ROKU brand TV. In fact, it is the opposite, third party manufacturers (such as JVC, ONN, TCL and others) pay to license the Roku OS on their TVs and Roku gets advertised as part of the TV on the box.

Got it. The point still remains that Roku must enforce mfg. compliance for their product to insure proper operation or pull the license.

I am sure that Roku issues minimum spec requirements to running their OS, just like Microsoft/Apple or other OS makers do. The issue with these third-party manufacturers in their quest to create cheaper and cheaper TVs to compete are cutting corners with the components they use and that is typically what is causing the issues because they may be compatible but barely. Roku has no control what all those manufacturers do and cannot make them do anything. Those brands are essentially competitors to Roku's own TVs. They make money on the licenses, but they are not going to help them make a better product to compete against their own line of TVs and streaming devices.
