Remote Sound Effect when pressed glitch sound

I have a 50" Onn. Roku TV and I have just a regular voice remote that I paired to it. I could tell you if it's because of the voice remote because I got it soon after I got the TV so I don't use the original remote (I no longer have it anyway) and it never really happens when I use the microphone. Everyone knows the sounds the Roku makes when you use the buttons, that's what really makes Roku stand out in my opinion but those sounds are the only thing that messes up when this happens, I could continue watching TV and nothing is wrong with the audio of what I'm watching but if I press any bottoms like home or pause it kinda gives off this weird kinda error sound and even if I change the system sound it'll still do it. It's only happens to the remote system sound and it'll occur randomly and usually happens every few days and at the most random times. I don't mind resetting the TV when this occurs but it's truly annoying to deal with, the TV hasn't been dropped or anything and shows no other issues and I don't think it could be the type of remote or the simple dropping of the remote. I have had an issue trying to use the microphone and it not working and then I'm not able to re-pair it to the TV but I was able to connect to another and then connect back to mine and finally got it. Sincerely though, is there anything I can do to fix this? And could it actually be the remote? Or do I just have to deal with it happening?

  • I will say I am here today for the same problem, and this just started a few days ago. Using down arrow or navigating gives an unpleasant error sound , I am on Default  sound in Themes, and chaging themes did not help . I get a annoying sound that cannot be described except to maybe use the name used by Windows for this  same irritating sound, It is the error fault sound and it did not used to do this. Please provide a solution. Changing themes bot helping. I have a Roku TV, Using original Roku remote.

      Hey be-useful

We understand you're experiencing an issue with the sound effect when pressing buttons on your Roku remote. We suggest turning off the menu sounds. Navigate to Settings > Audio > Menu Volume > Off.

      Hope this helps!

    Welcome, Itzirenee

Thanks for reaching out about the strange sounds the buttons on your Roku remote make when pressed. I'm glad to hear that no other apps are affected.

To fix this, please follow these steps: go to settings > theme > sounds > and select the Default sound pack.

Let us know how it goes!

It's already set to default so another sound pack isn't the issue.

Can you please show us a video of it happening so we can take a closer look? Also, did this happen after an update?

Itzirenee. Here's an update from the right team.

Can you please check the theme pack in the theme settings? You might have changed the sounds, which would also change the button sounds.  Navigate through Settings > Theme > Sounds (Green check mark on the one active. The one that has a gear that says Roku is the default one.)

Let us know if that works!

I don't really mess with the theme but I can reset the TV and it goes back to normal

        Itzirenee.

Are there any differences you notice when changing the sound? Just to confirm, you have tried factory resetting, correct? Is the issue resolved?

We hope to hear from you soon!

Well, I don't know if I've mentioned this already, but I had to switch to a remote from my bedroom TV because I can't get the microphone remote to connect, and the one that I had but don't like I managed to lose. So I've switched the remotes and so far my bedroom TV hasn't acted weird with the remote, but my Living room TV I do believe has done it at least 1-2 times since I switched them. So, I'm starting to think it might be a TV issue.

        Thanks for the update, Itzirenee!

Just to confirm, the living room TV you reported first seems to have the audio problem, correct? If that's the case, can you capture a Tracker ID again when this happens so we can further investigate?

        Looking forward to your response!

Also if I turn off the TV or reset it it won't effect finding the problem will it. I'd like to go to bed as it's almost midnight where I am and would like to also turn off the TV to not ruin the projection lamp in the TV.
