Remote pairing with out a pairing button

Was having difficulties with my TV this forum recommended factory reset. Continued on with the factory reset all is well let’s get started screen comes up my remote no longer works ( besides to power...

    You may want to try pressing the Home and Back buttons on the remote simultaneously for 5 seconds then release. This appears to have the same effect as the old 'pair' button on the newest Roku remotes. 

    I tried this based on another post when I replaced some broken Roku 4K+ express units and noticed the replacement remotes had no pairing button.

Can you please specify the issue you are experiencing? What are the steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing? What Roku model device are you using, as well as what TV are you using?

    I’m using a sony. tv and can’t find

    rmodel number o n roku. it uses batteries 🔋

      jjtwd​ , your issue is likely not related to what's being discussed here.  You only pair Roku remotes with Roku devices and TVs.  I imagine you're trying to set up a Roku remote to control the power and volume of a Sony TV, but I can't be sure.  You should start a new topic and clearly state what the issue is.

    I just moved and when setting up my tv Roku at new place remote will not work. Battery replaced did a few troubleshooting ur generic **bleep** unplug/remove battery together blah blah. Nothing worked. I can't setup my Roku to wifi wo a remote.

      Rocoocitywaste5 without knowing the model number of your Roku, it's difficult to assist you. The model number should be printed on the case somewhere. If you have a Roku Stick (that's the one that connects directly to a TV without a cable), then you must have a working Roku remote to get it connected. Any other Roku will work with generic IR remotes that you can find anywhere that sells electronic devices.

      The roku box model# is 3930X. The SN# 501332741616. My account number is mablemeece6@gmail.com. The remote is a TCL RokuTv remote. My TV is a ONN. My dog chewed the old remote. So I bought a new remote but can't get it to work. Help me please.

        MableMeece, you can't use a Roku TV remote on a stand-alone Roku device (unless it's a voice remote).  For the 3930, you can use any of the current Roku remotes or a universal remote that supports Roku devices.

    Trying to pair my non battery remote. It is stuck on “to pair your remote…”

     

    I can’t get off the screen. Then I found batteries for my old battery remote and it’s still not working. I have no tv.  I was doing a factory reset to get some stranger off my apparently refurbished roku in order to cancel nesn $30 monthly which has now cost me $120 because I can’t cancel it can’t get in my tv and can’t pair the remote!!!!!

    The Roku is the Express and the TV is a Emerson
