Remote only controls volume and on/off

did anybody found  find a solution for "Roku Remote only controls volume and on/off" ?

I have a 75" TCL roku tv (75S421") and my remote can only power on/off the TV.

After the TV turn on completely it is in the factory setting for setting the language but i'm not able to use the remote, or the power button to move past this menu. I do see the IR light come on when i press any button on the remote ,

i don't see the light by the TV power switch changing or lighting up when pressing the remote. the only thing I can do with the remote is to power on/off the TV.

is it possible I need a new roku remote that have the pairing button in the remote battery compartment? what else can I try? how about using a Bluetooth keyboard, or Bluetooth mouse to move past the menu the TV is stuck in. ?

I also tired using iphone app roku remote  and no luck there.

where does the control for the remote occurs , in the main board ,correct? is it possible that main board is the problem. ?

    2. When did the issue start?
    3. What type of remote are you using right now? (universal, Roku simple remote, or Roku voice remote)
    4. Do you have extra batteries or new batteries?
    5. Can you please check if the battery is inserted properly into the remote?

      I have a 65” TCL with ROKU and am having similar problems with my Voice / standard battery remote. This is the second remote purchased as the original remote failed as well. My current remote was operational until 9 MAR 24. Observation was that I had paused a program on Peacock for dinner and when I went back, all I could do was adjust the volume up and down and turn the tv on and off. None of the other buttons including the play/pause button, the four preprogrammed buttons, up down left right - nothing but power and volume worked. 

      I used my cell phone camera to verify the IR was illuminating and observed the IR blink when the power and volume buttons were mashed but none of the other buttons would illuminate the IR when mashed. 

      I measured the batteries voltage at 1.5VDC but replaced them with new batteries that measured 1.6VDC. Same indications were observed with the IR blinking with power and volume buttons with the fresh batteries. 

      How long are the remotes supposed to work? Mine failed a month after I couldn’t return it through Amazon.

        We'd love to further investigate this issue that you had with the Roku remote. May we know what Roku device you are using right now? (Roku Express, Roku streaming stick, Roku Ultra, Roku streambar, Roku TV-Specify)
