I've got a 3820R2 which about 4 days ago started turning off almost immediately after turning it on. It did it a couple of times in a row yesterday.
For power it's plugged into a USB port on the TV that generates 1amp of power and has worked fine. It's plugged into a Samsung 55" QLED TV. When I hit the power button it turns on the TV and the Roku as well. It will get to the home screen hold for just a few seconds and then the TV, Samsung soundbar and Roku turn off. The software is up to date checked today.
When it does stay on it stays on until I turn it off. I should add that it's plugged into the HDMI port with an extension. Heat shouldn't be an issue as the back of the set is open and with the extension it's not up against the TV.
Oddly, it seems to come on and stay on if I turn the TV on with the Samsung remote. However, I haven't started out with the TV remote for my first shot yet so I don't know if there is a connection. It doesn't make sense that would solve the problem.
I've done a search but haven't found anyone having this issue. If someone has did you figure out the solution?
Try disabling power savings:
Settings/System/Power/Auto power savings = unchecked
(APS is known to cause all sorts of issues especially when coming out of standby - the very minimal "power savings" actually provided by enabling it isnt worth the instability/issues with having it enabled)
You need to (@ least temporarily) use the provided USB PS to verify that it isnt an amperage issue with the TV's USB port.

Thanks much for your answer. I never turn on power saving and just checked to be sure. I have run the Roku using PS in the past. The link you provided is helpful and I agree with that poster. This did seem to develop after the most recent software update and mine is running the same version as his.
