Pioneer plasma pro-930 and media receiver

I have a pioneer plasma pro-930 and media receiver. I would like to cut the cable cord but need to figure out how to set up a roku to the tv and the surround sound.

Can I simply plug in a roku stick to the hdmi port of the media receiver? Which roku stick?
