Pairing a Roku streaming device remote with a Samsung TV

This, nor anything else I’ve tried works. Very frustrated. Love Roku, hate the remote.

  • Hello! motwhelan,

A hearty welcome from the Roku Community!

We appreciate you reaching out to us about your Roku remote. We're pleased to assist.

During the remote setup, your Roku device will attempt to automatically detect the brand of your TV (over the HDMI connection) and program your Roku voice remote. In cases where the brand cannot be detected automatically, you will be taken through a series of steps to manually enter the brand and help program your remote. Please keep trying until you get the correct code.

Your Roku voice remote may not be able to control power and volume on all TV models. With some TV models, you may only be able to control volume and not power. You should also check that HDMI-CEC is enabled on your TV

As described above, your Roku device plays music to help during the setup process. If you do not hear the music or it does not mute correctly, review the troubleshooting steps for setting up your Roku voice remote to control the power and volume on your TV.

Please keep us posted on what you find out, and we will be happy to continue assisting you further. We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks,

    Arjiemar

I have a Samsung Model UN55EH600F TV. After going through the set up remote for TV process the following happens:

Do you have a Samsung TV: Yes

      Is music playing: Yes

Do you still hear the music Stop Codes 1: Yes

Are you the still hearing music Codes 2&3: Yes

      Continue setting up remote: Yes

Did you still hear the music Code 4 has a dialogue Warning: "not available" which disappears after a few seconds and I can see the Did you still hear the music Yes

      This repeats for Codes 5 & 6

      Continue setting up remote: Yes

Do you still hear the music for Codes 7 & 8: Yes

      Unable to set up remote
