Are you using the Internet Service provider equipment and if not, it sounds like a modem issue since this is the device that transfers data to other devices, the router among them. In all cases your provider tech support team should be able to view the modem status, so I'd start there and see if its active. And if you use their equipment they're able to reset it. If all else fails, I'd recommend you have a provider technician come to your home to troubleshoot further

Thanks for getting back to me. I just now saw your message and tried to call my service provider, and they are closed so I will have to call tomorrow or Monday if they aren't in on a Saturday. They did say that it showed I was connected when I called them yesterday. I'll call again and see what they say.
