New Roku express keeps restarting setup process after going black

I just got a new Roku express and after selecting a language and connecting to wifi it says 'downloading' and then the screen goes black. I have tried resetting the device, leaving it for awhile, and...

All I can suggest is trying another USB power adapter and/or USB cable.  Make sure the fine print on the power adapter indicates that it can supply at least 1 Amp (1000mA).
