Is there a way to use both the a 3.5 mm audio jack and the TV speakers?

Hisense TV50R6E5

I bought this TV yesterday because it had a 3.5 mm audio jack for my husband’s wireless headphones.  Our previous TV would allow him to use the headphones for his volume and I used the volume from the TV speakers.  I hope this makes sense.  When I plug anything into the 3.5 mm jack that is the only thing that has volume nothing comes from the TV speakers.  Is there a way to use both the a 3.5 mm audio jack and the TV speakers?

    You've raised a good question! 

    Currently, Roku TVs still do not support this setup, as it automatically disables the TV speakers when you connect a headphone jack to your TV. 

    But here's what we can suggest: you may use the Headphones mode with the Roku Mobile app, which can connect up to four devices at the same time.

      You can also find wireless headphones where you can plug the transmitter into the TV via RCA jacks or optical.  Unlike the phono plug, those rarely mute the TV sound.
