I have the same issue. I'm using a Roku Premiere (which I bought used) connected to a wireless router/modem that's about 15-20' away. The cords attached to the router aren't long enough to move it any closer to the Roku. My Internet service through Mediacom is 100 Mb/sec, and I have an Amazon Fire tablet and a Kyocera cell phone that can both connect to my WiFi network with no issues. I've tried changing the wireless broadcast channel and enabling the 5GB signal through my router's control panel; neither of these have worked. I do seem to get better download speeds at night for some reason, but that doesn't do me much good first thing in the morning when I want to catch up with a few YouTube videos before I go to work. Are there any other ways to fix this, or should I just upgrade to an Ultra and use a wired connection instead?
I am having the same issue. It started about a week ago. I have 2 other Roku devices that work perfectly fine. I have a Roku tv and than I have 2 Roku express. The one in my daughter's playroom is the one that is saying "internet download speed is poor". I changed the channel, nothing, moved my router closer, nothing, I took the Roku out of her play room and plugged it into the tv in the front room it says it again. I plug the "original Roku back in the front room, no problem. I even bought a new Roku tv and it gave me the "internet download poor". I've done nothing different!!! How do I fix this. 🤬

Thanks for the note.
We would recommend checking out some wireless troubleshooting tips on our Support page here: Tips for improving the wireless connection to your Roku® streaming device
If adjusting your wireless network isn't helping, send me a PM with your Roku account email address and the serial number of your Roku device. I'll get you in touch with our support team to see if there's anything else we can do to help.
Thanks,

I have 3 wireless sticks and 1 wired connection. All were great for a long time, then 1 wireless stick went south. Check connection, reconnect and still getting no internet and 0 mbps download speed although wireless connection rated as excellent. Finally tried just unplugging power to the stick and let it sit for a minute or so. plug it back in, turn on tv, give it a minute to connect to network and then do a check connection in settings and bingo, both wireless connect and internet connect with green checks and then it shows 76 mbps download speed. Did it to all three wireless sticks and all is well with improvements up close to my wired roku devices which scores 88 MBPS download speed. My wireless channel is 36 and I never changed that because at this point all is well so why bother with all that.
Hope this works for everyone.

I have the same issue.
I just purchased a new Roku Premier for our bedroom and tried all the possible solutions. When I connect to the wifi signal quality is excellent but the connection speed is shown as poor (1 or 0 Mbps).
I was using an old version of Amazon fire TV stick and had no problem with the wifi in that location. I tried other channels for the wifi and no improvement. I even moved the Roku to the other room right next to the Router but still have the same issue! The software is updated to the most recent version.
what surprised me was that when I tried my phone hotspot the Roku connected successfully and connection speed was much better (20 Mbps). I have a high speed internet at my place and the Router is one of the latest versions (I did a speed test and the download speed was 50Mbps).
I am really disappointed with the Roku performance and will return it if I cannot find a solution.

It hasn't been working for weeks now, so I got a refund as it wasn't fit for purpose. I only had it for 18 months. I bought a Amazon Fire TV Stick which works perfectly.

Hi,
My ROKU download speed was also 0 mbps. My comcast wifi download speeds were excellent. My comcast person suggested unplugging my ROKU from the wall, not just from the back of the ROKU, but from the wall to prevent any power to the ROKU. Then after waiting one minute to plug it back in. I went from 0 mbps download speed to 19 mbps download speed and I no longer have buffering constantly.
I hope this simple solution works for other people.

This seems a bit absurd. I thought I was the only one experiencing this. After two Chat sessions with Roku, a 90 minute live session with my Router/Wifi customer service and 3 live sessions with my ISP I finally did a Google search and found this. Call me dumb. It never occurred to me that this could be a widespread problem. I have two TCL Roku TVs and one TV with an Ultra. Initially each were Wifi and each showed Excellent Wifi Connection. The speed drop was more or less random (by the way the Wifi remained Excellent) until a few days ago when a pattern emerged. At 5 am when I tested it the speed was identical to my LAN connected computer. Around 9 or 10 am it suddenly dropped, on all three devices, to 2 MBPS. I moved the Ultra close enough to the router to connect a LAN. The same pattern continued for three days, even with the LAN connected Ultra. Obviously there is something wrong with the Roku architecture -- I suspect some Update created the problem. Can anyone tell me how I can actually speak with Roku. The Chat people are well meaning but seriously clueless regarding this problem. This is unacceptable.

I am also having the same problem. My ISP shows fast speed. When I speed test on laptop and phone, I get high speed. But as of last night, BOTH of my Roku Devices (one is Express, the other is built-in to TCL TV) are getting "Poor" speed (0 to 1 Mbps).

My Express in the front room is still working and my Roku Tv is still doing well. I couldn't get my other Express to work in my kid's playroom. I even went out and bought a newer Roku tv and I still had the same issue. I got a booster for my internet still had problem.☹️ So I broke down and ordered a Fire Stick from Amazon and I haven't had any problems. I wish I had an answer to help solve the issue. Good luck to you. I hope you can get them to work.

Reset your network connection in the advance settings menu. Then go to network menu and log back into your wireless internet.
