That's exactly what it is, a firmware problem!!
Its no one's tv, no one's remote no ghosts in the house. It's the Roku device period.
BTW, this is 2023 and we're having these amateurish issues????? This **bleep** should've been ironed out in the 90s for Pete's sake.
I've lost interest and respect for this brand. My 15 year old Chromecast Fire stick works faster and is more reliable.
Roku needs to get off their high horse, admit its their unit and FIX THE ISSUE!!!

I found the answer. It the roku but not device I been messing with it for 3 days. Lol. Once u get all started set your remote n get any size screen on TV. Go to home screen then to settings n there u will find to fit your TV hit picture or screen width. Now this is once u get all hooked up n turn on roku like your gonna select something to watch there's a list for home remote all that stuff n a settings click on settings n another list comes up to fit picture to screen. I just did mine. Good luck everyone please share if you can so others will know then after u do that with roku settings then u can go on your TV settings click on functions n then you'll see aspect ratio try all it will make fit even better I just did it

Hello CarlWilliams
We appreciate your contact!
-Can you please provide us with more information regarding the issue you are experiencing? Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device?
-What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to try to resolve the issue? Have you tried connecting the device to another HDMI port as well as using another HDMI cable to see if the issue persists?
-Have you tried connecting the device to a different TV to see if the problem occurs there as well? Please keep us posted and we'll continue assisting you from there.

This is why I'm drifting away from Roku to other products. It's not a TV related problem and apparently Roku isn't in tune with issues they have with their products.
I have other streamers, Chromecast, Amazon and and NVidia Shield that do not have issues with the HDHomeRun overscan. I'm not going into the settings of a brand new TV to adjust settings that don't need to be adjusted when using other streamers. Other customers shouldn't have to do this either.
