When is the Roku Express Wi-Fi setup option for hotel going to be fixed?
The Roku Roku Express Wi-Fi setup option issue is not resolved by reset network connections, restarting, recovery mode, or factory reset as the issue is that the Wi-Fi setup option turns itself off after only a few seconds.

This is just chatgpt 4.0, but I believe it's more likely to help than "did you reset it" which is their response to everything and works about 5% of the time.
1. Power Source Instability
Cause: Hotel TVs often cut USB power or reset it frequently.
Fix: Plug the Roku into a wall adapter, not the TV’s USB port.
2. Hotspot Auto-Timeout
Cause: The Roku hotspot is designed to turn off quickly if the user doesn't connect in time.
Fix: As soon as the Roku shows the password screen:
Immediately go to Wi-Fi settings on the phone/tablet.
Connect to the “Roku” hotspot using the 6-digit password.
3. Incorrect Band or Protocol
Cause: Some devices have issues with Roku's ad-hoc network (usually 2.4GHz).
Fix:
Try a different device (if using a phone, switch to a laptop or vice versa).
Ensure the device Wi-Fi supports ad-hoc/P2P mode.
4. Browser Hijack or Redirect Block
Cause: The hotel Wi-Fi requires a login screen that some devices or browsers block.
Fix:
After connecting to Roku hotspot, when prompted, select “I am at a hotel/dorm”.
Roku should then detect the captive portal and prompt the external device to finish login.
If it doesn’t load, go to http://neverssl.com in the browser after connecting. This usually triggers the captive portal login.
5. Firmware Bug or Glitch
Cause: There may be a bug in the latest Roku firmware.
Fix:
If they can get access to a regular Wi-Fi network, update the Roku firmware.
Go to: Settings → System → System update → Check now.
6. Use a Travel Router Instead
Workaround: If nothing else works, use a travel router like a GL.iNet Mango or TP-Link N300:
Connect the router to hotel Wi-Fi and perform the captive login once.
Connect Roku to the travel router’s consistent private Wi-Fi.
