Help..don’t know how to start roku

Hello, I just bought the Roku streaming stick and I have no idea how to get it started on my tv. I plugged the stick in to the back of my tv into the HDMI2 port and the other end I put it into another port on the other side of the tv in the back.  Do I need to plug the stick in twice on the back of the TV?

    Just a heads-up, you do not need to plug a streaming stick into your TV twice, but you must plug it directly into the power source.
