Commercial and ads feedback

Roku like all streaming platforms are trying (not very well I might add) by running as many adverts as they can squeeze in. This was the whole reason I went to this platform, now even with the advert selections turned off, still get annoying worthless adverts on horrible shows, and insulting adverts on extremely stupid products. I keep cancelling more and more subscriptions due this issue. And in the end will probably stop Roku as well since it is nothing more than a large terrible advert all day long. Terrible terrible direction Roku has turned too!!!!!

  • Most of the main streaming services have ad-free subscriptions.

Ads are not unique to Roku. Every ad-supported free service or subscription will have more and more useless ads as they scramble for eyeballs. Going to a FireTV or similar will make no difference with most services. An Apple TV has no direct on-screen ads, but there is still a continue-watching or recommended picture at the top for whichever service you pick if you are on the top row of apps, and it supports that. The only true ad-free would be to use a Google TV device and put it in apps-only mode. There may also be various Android/Google TV launchers with clean interfaces.

andyross I think you've missed the point. No one is complaining that ads are shown, for as you mentioned, of course there are various apps you can subscribe to, with none. However, the complaints are about the quality, rather the lack thereof, of some of the ads Roku has created &/or chosen to broadcast, being overly loud, obnoxious, and feel geared towards children. It's not all ads, just some, and their complaints can easily be remedied, if Roku so chooses.
