Closed captioning won't stay off

My close captioning on my TLC Roku TV keeps switching to always on when I have on mute selected. It happens when I turn off TV and turn it back on later.

You can often fix Roku closed captioning that won't turn off by checking the system-wide settings. From the Roku Home screen, navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Captions mode and ensure it's off.

Your suggestion doesn't work.  Screen says it is off but the closed captions remain.  Now what??

Your solution doesn’t work.  I never turned them on !  Now they won’t go off !  I’ve made sure the CC is OFF 5 times and they won’t turn off.  Please help !!

I have this same problem.  I set off on captions setting and every time you turn the tv off or change to a different network they come back on
