Hi Purpleaunt,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We get that you want to move the position of the close caption from top to bottom. We would be glad to provide you with further details.
We want to confirm whether you are attempting to change the position of the closed captions within the Roku channels or in standalone channels. Currently, Roku does not offer a feature to move closed captioning from the top to the bottom or vice versa. However, you are able to customize the text, background, and window in the closed captions for your Roku.
Closed captions are only available when they are included by the service provider (e.g., Netflix, The Roku Channel, or Hulu). If you want to change the closed caption position for standalone channels, please check with the service provider to see if this option is available. We recommend checking our Roku support article: How to enable closed captioning
We hope you find this information helpful.
Thanks,

Roku needs to address this problem because NO ONE wants their closed caption to cover the faces of the ppl on screen. Really Roku what were you thinking when you developed a smart tv that puts closed captioned over the faces of the on screen ppl and cannot be moved from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen?
100% this.
It's kind of ridiculous to be forced to choose between closed captions and seeing the person's face on the screen. Why would you do that?

Roku, please fix the closed captioning so we may adjust it out of the main view… there are many options to be had. Knowing that other apps have it, makes me think it is not a difficult fix to make. Thank you.

Thanks for your suggestions, Cart6719!
We understand that you may want to have an option to reposition the closed captioning on Roku. While this feature is not available yet, we will take this as feedback and try to pass this on to the team.
Thanks again for your interest!

On most video players, the caption position can be moved through the accessibility or subtitle settings menu. It’s worth checking there first.

Yeah…on all other apps they work well, it on the Roku app itself that it is not ideal.

Hey, Cart6719.
Thanks for chiming in!
Please note that different apps have their own closed captioning style and placement depending on the show. While a feature to reposition the closed captioning on Roku is not supported yet, we'll take this as feedback and would be happy to forward it to the team.
Thanks again,
