Black screen on Roku Pro TV

Was watching TV - screen went black. Pressing buttons on the remote makes it light up on bottom right - so it’s getting power. It just won’t turn on. This is after my Roku speakers won’t connect. Roku - I'm out. I’m returning the TV, soundbar, bass cube , & speakers.

Please  dont ask me to give you model numbers or the software version ID. It’s a brand new Roku 55”  Pro  TV from Best Buy I bought  a month ago that has power & wont turn on. Roku stuff is just junk.

    Hi there Swanicyouth

We saw your post about your new Roku TV which has a power but only displaying a black screen during streaming. We'd like to take a closer look at it.

Try to restarting your Roku TV by unplugging it from the power source for 10 seconds. Also, ensure that it is plugged in directly from the main power outlet.

Let us know how it goes!

  • Many TVs can be fixed by unplugging power cord for 30 minutes.   Sometimes the capacitors don't discharge properly.

  • Swanicyouth Is it one of the Roku brand TVs or one of the many third-party TVs that use the Roku OS, like Onn, TCL, Hisense?   Some of those third-party brands are notoriously unreliable. If it is new, I would return to best buy and get a replacement or my money back.  Check to make sure the power cord is properly seated into the TV and outlet.

  • So frustrating. Tried it 2 hours later & nothing. Dead. This morning it turns on. I don’t know if it was updating, I can’t imagine the screen going black & tv just not turning on for 2 hours is the mechanism this tv updates. Is this  known issue? First I have to return Roku speakers because they won’t connect & now the tv dies. Is this a known issue?

      Hey, Swanicyouth

We noticed you're experiencing issues with your Roku TV not powering on. Can you share more info?

Have you tried plugging your Roku TV into a different wall outlet? Also, try unplugging any HDMI devices, USB drives, or soundbars from the TV before turning it on.

      Looking forward to your response!
