Black bars on the TV screen

Hello.  I just got a Samsung hdc crystal tv and a roku ultra.  I have the tv set at fit to screen.  Movies have large black bars on top and bottom.   The only way I can watch is to enter menu on tv and use *zoom to fit*.  It works but it's quite a hassle.   Does anyone else having this issue and know a fix with the roku settings?  Appreciate help.  Samsung says it's an issue with roku???  Thanks!

    Welcome!

We noticed that your Roku Ultra is not showing a full screen on your Samsung TV. Just a heads-up: Your Roku streaming player can automatically detect and select the optimal resolution and frame rate for your TV, or you can manually choose these settings—together referred to as the display type.

You could also try enabling the auto-adjust display refresh rate. Go to Settings > System > Advanced System settings > Advanced display settingsAuto-adjust display refresh rate.

  • Thanks for trying. It didn't work. I already had that setting on as you said. I'll ha e to keep looking for a solution.  Maybe it's a wrong setting on the tv. Unfortunately there is no aspect button on this new remote.  That would help me a lot.  Appreciate  your response.
