Smart bulb firmware update

I just bought a smart bulb SE and the update firmware its taking forever. I can’t really use its features unless I update. Any recommendations ?

  • How long is it supposed to take to update the firmware?  Taking over 15 minutes.

      Greetings, H2ohzrd​!

      A weak or low-quality internet connection can cause issues downloading and installing a firmware update. All smart home devices, except the Roku Outdoor Camera SE base station, only support a Wi-Fi internet connection.

  • lol, thanks for the boilerplate answer but I have a 1 GB connection so doubt it’s my WiFi connection. Try again

      • Did we recently make any changes to your network or network provider?
      • Have you tried to restart your modem and router?

        No changes were made to my network or provider.  It’s Google Fiber!

         

        no, I didn’t try to restart my modem or router and I’m not going to.  It seems the bulbs work fine without doing the alleged “firmware update”.  My other bulb (10 feet away from this problem child) had the same issue but miraculously the firmware updated.  It seems to me that the firmware update issue is on your end.  Have you restarted your servers modem and router? 😂

    We'll be delighted to assist you further with this issue you had with the Roku smart home bulb, which was having trouble updating the firmware. Please try restarting a Roku Smart Bulb SE (Color) or Roku Smart Bulb SE (White), turning off the bulb manually with the light switch and then turning it back on.
