Roku Wireless speakers not pairing to streambar

Hi,

i just purchased a Roku stream bar. I also have 9020x speakers which will not pair. My tv is not Roku enabled. But the wireless speakers said compatible with Roku stream bar so I purchased one to use the speakers. I’m following instructions but the stream bar does not recognize the speakers. I’m stuck with speakers I can’t use. Are they not compatible?

thanks

LJ

  • Thanks for getting back to us! LjRox

The Roku Wireless Speaker is compatible with the Streambar, and these are the reasons why the speaker does not recognize or find the Streambar:

    • The speaker is not powered on
    • The speakers are too far from your Roku host device (Wireless speakers are designed to be placed 30 feet from your Roku host device)
    • There is wireless interference.
    • The speaker is paired with another Roku host device.

To ensure the pairing is successful, you can visit this link.

    Hope this helps!

  • Same issue.  I just bought two Streambars model 9102MX.  My 9020X speakers are not detected by either.  I have a TCL Roku TV in the garage that pairs with the speakers just fine.  The issue seems to be compatibility between the speakers and the Streambars, yet they are listed as compatible.  I'm interested in a solution as well.

The speakers were reset and ready for pairing according to the audible instructions.  After several attempts I even performed a factory reset on the Streambar itself.  The Streambar will not detect the speakers.

  • I have the 9102MX as well. Doesn’t even give a speaker option. I wasted 2 hours of my time going through all of the set up and troubleshooting things. I have the 9102R in another house and absolutely no problems. Had that set up in less than 30 minutes. So frustrating!!

I have the same issue and it has to be because it is a MX model.  My other one has no issues coming up with a speaker option.

Why can’t someone from Roku read what we say that there is no option for speakers and subwoofer!  Now, start from there with a resolution for us please.

These guys should just recognize that they aren't going to get a solution and advise the buyer to return the unit and get something else. So frustrating!

I have set up my share of these with the additional speakers. It doesn't give me the "Speaker" option. The soundbar, has been turned off and on more times than I care to think about. The speakers have been unplugged and plugged back in at least a half a dozen times. I have hit the reset button on the back of the speakers. I have restarted and reset the Roku to factory settings. I bought it off Amazon and they're getting it back. I bought the 9102R and will set it up for my father-in-law this weekend.

So, it's a grey market item sold in US for discount. And so you have found out it wasn't just difference in labels or language, there software differences too. Maybe Roku doesn't sell wireless speakers in Spanish market? I say if you can get your money back, do!!!

Could my speakers possibly be out of date and not updating. Reading through other customer questions this may be the problem.

I have not heard of the mx version of the Roku Streambar before this thread. We know for sure that Roku Streambar SE will not pair with Roku wireless speakers, I can only guess they're using SE UI in this MX version of the Streambar? I have two Streambars that at least 3 years old they both still show wireless speakers as item to pair with.

As for the photo above simply showing 9102x even though it's really 9102mx, isn't new for Rokus. I have both Roku Smart Soundbar 9101R and Streambar Pro 9101R2. When you look on the back of each they both have the exact model number 9101x as each other.

The MX is the exact same speaker as the Streambar.  It is not the SE.  It is made for Spanish speaking people and has a Vix fast button on it.  in the specs it even says it will pair with Roku wireless speakers and a Roku subwoofer.  SMH
