Onn Roku TV compatibility with 9020r2 Wireless Roku speakers

I’ve purchased the 9020r2 Roku wireless speakers for my Roku branded onn.Roku tv. It says every where I have looked that they are compatible. I followed instructions for pairing them and the tv won’t discover them. I’ve done everything in troubleshooting. I moved the tv and speakers to a different location and it didn’t work. Do I need to return these speakers? Are they really compatible? What should I do?

    Welcome Macharr1s

It looks like you have an issue connecting the Onn Roku TV to the Roku Wireless speaker. And thank you for trying all the necessary steps to pair it.

Could you share with us if you happen to see any error messages when you tried pairing the speaker with your TV? And to answer your question, the Roku Wireless speaker works with any Roku TV.

    Looking forward to your reply!

  • There are no error messages. It just says ‘unable to connect’.

      Thanks for the update Macharr1s

How about trying to restart the TV by pressing Home > Select Settings > Select System > Power (if that option is not there, skip to the next part) > System restart. Once that’s done, try pairing the Wireless Speaker again and see if it works.

Let us know how it goes!

        Ok so my tv info

        software version: 14.6

        device id: s19fj444pagn

        Serial #: x0270084pagn

        Bought from walmart

the speakers I bought from amazon-

model: 9020x on device, 9020r2 on box

        fcc id: tc2-r1023

        sn: 026271560337

  • …’No wireless speakers found’. I just tried it again. I must’ve tried dozens of times. I thought maybe it was my metal bed frame, so I moved the tv and speakers somewhere else and tried, still nothing.

  • …and when I look at the lights on the back the blinking changes from “blink, blink, blink” to “blink blink, blink blink” on 1 speaker while the other goes to solid light. That’s how it stays and it says ‘unable to pair’ now, again. I tried the restart too.

  • I’m just bummed because I can’t use anything else and the sound’s not very good on this little 24” tv, enough as it is…

  • It still hasn’t worked. Should I return these speakers for a new set? Or could it possibly be my tv? I just updated it and it’s only a year old.

  • I’ve done everything instructed over and over since yesterday and still nothing different. Should I return these speakers for new ones? Or should I even bother getting any since the only ones that are compatible aren’t really compatible?

  • I did the system restart on my tv I updated it before that too

  • I reset the speakers, unplugged them and plugged them back in, same with tv.

Thanks for doing all the steps! Macharr1s

Do you have a Roku Streambar/Soundbar connected to your Roku TV? If so, have you tried pairing it directly to these devices and seeing if that will work?

Let us know what you find!
